So, my mother just delivered the saddest news I've heard in a while. And for the first time in so long, I couldn't stop the tears. Some of you might be like, 'Get over it. It's just a hamster, get over and buy a new one.' I'd thank you to not post so. Yeah, my hamster's dead. Fritz was the sweetest little thing you've ever seen the likes of. He was a little Chinese dwarf hamster. They're tiny, and the cutest little guys. He never got out of his cage, and he wouldn't even try to get out if he had the chance. He was fine with his life, exactly the way it was. He was played with atleast once a week, and he was fed and his cage cleaned decently often. I got him for my birthday, and he quickly captured the love of all my friends. He was so cute, so happy, so little. How could anyone dislike him? He had a great life. But this morning, my mother went downstairs to get something, and she, though hating rodents, saw the little guy sitting out in the open, and knew something was amyss. She shook his cage lightly- nothing. Poor little Fritz was gone, up in the big hamster wheel in the sky, laying on the softest bedding he'd ever felt. I got home from school, and the phone rang. My sister answered, and she said something about how she didn't see why mom was telling her about something, because she wasn't the one taking care of him. Then the phone was handed to me. The first thing she said sent me into tears, and I knew what she would say afterwards. Her words? "I've got bad news about Fritz." She continued talking, and I couldn't help but just listen numbly. He wasn't even a year old, he had such a long life ahead of him! A little bit ago, my other sister came outside with me, and we dug a little hole for him, a tiny hole for a tiny guy with a big heart. I just hope that he's happy in heaven, and that our next hamster will live a good, long life full of love of nurturing.

My rat, a beautiful albino, Chimera, died a while ago... Rats normally live around 5 years or so, but she lasted about 1 year, probably from the abuse from the lab I rescued her from. Rats normally don't like like gerbils, or kittens, or rottweilers, but she was good friends with them all. If they went to the same place, I'm positive they'd get along.
