- When first about to go on a hunting petrol keep silent and observe everything around you.
- If you wish to say something to the cat beside you, always whisper.
- When prey is spotted, drop into a low crouch and check if the prey has already seen you.
- If not, proceed into stalking.
If you see a mouse...
- Take very light steps as a mouse can feel vibrations through the earth long before it sees you.
If you see a rabbit...
- Move silently but swiftly.
- Always try your best not to result to chasing the rabbit as they can outrun you.
If you see a squirrel...
- Try to catch it before it runs up a tree.
- If spotted on a low branch, sprint forward and jump. Stretch out one of your paws, claws unsheathed and try to hook onto its tail and drag it down.(Be careful not to hit the branch.)
- If chasing it up a tree, catch it before you reach the top of the tree because squirrels can jump really high and they might leap to another tree leaving you mewling for help if you can't climb down or are too high.
If you see a fish...
- Do not EVER bend over and look into the water. Two reasons: 1st: You might fall over into the water and drown yourself or scare all the prey away. 2nd: Fish have eyes, they will see your reflection in the surface of the water and will move away.
- Try not to swim and catch the fish as they have an advantage, they can swim better.
- Swiftly claw the fish and hook it up.
- You could also (paws sheathed) pad at the fish force fully so you would be tossing it out of water and catch it with your jaws if you can or when it lands, don't let it get back to the water.
